Under the Tree Linky Party #16

by | Sep 9, 2016 |

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!

-Philippians 2:5-8 (NIV), emphasis added

Our relationship, those with parents, siblings, friends, spouses, coworkers, everyone, should take the form of the relationship Christ has with us.  We should be willing to humble ourselves and give them everything. Think about what Christ did for you.  He is God.  But He did see that as something to use for His own gain, instead, He used it to save a dying world.  He didn’t have to do what He did, but because He loves us, He made Himself nothing and became obedient to death.  We need to take the love Christ has given us and apply it to our relationship.
