MY STORY

Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story – those He redeemed from the hand of the foe.

-Psalm 107:2 (NIV)

God wants to use our stories; good or bad He wants to use what you have been through to help others.

I NEVER THOUGHT THAT MY STORY WAS OF ANY IMPORTANCE.

I wasn’t saved after a near-death experience or after a struggle with drugs or alcohol, I wasn’t even saved after a time where I struggled with my finances or through an abusive relationship.  No, I was saved at an early age when I really didn’t know what it meant to be saved.  I was a VBS Christian; a Christian who was saved at bible school as a small child.  I later rededicated my life once I knew what it meant to be saved, but again, it wasn’t anything spectacular.

I have two loving parents who provided, so I don’t have the “God became my Father and Provider” story.  I was terrified of being punished, so I was the “good kid” and I don’t have the “God redeemed me when I hit rock bottom” story.  I have the “I’ve always been saved” story.  But, I am learning that this story might help others.

I’m not saying my whole life has been rainbows and butterflies; I have had struggles, but not with the things that I feel make the amazing redemption stories. Stories where someone has been running from God and He brought them back, forgiving them 100% and they turn their lives around.  Stories that make me praise God more and love Him more for the wonderful things He does for us.

So why do I need to tell my story?  No one would be saved if I told my story.  That’s how I used to feel.

My hope is that, if I do as God has commanded in Psalm 107, then my story will help someone become closer to God.  So in this blog series I am going to share my story.  Not of how I was saved, but of how God has shown up in my life time and time again.

Stick around and hear how God showed up in my love life, my career, my finances, how He showed up when my husband built our house.  I want the world to see that no matter your story, God will show up if you have faith and trust in Him.
